Aiden Hurley as Jean Valjean

Aiden Hurley, Founder and Co-Director

 

Aiden Hurley is a theatre and film director and stage actor from Durango, Colorado. He was raised in a family immersed in the entertainment industry. He has been involved with theatre productions through Troupe 1096, Mountain Middle School, and Merely Players' youth theatre group. 

 

He directed ThesNerd Productions' Les Misérables and played Jean Valjean. His other recent stage appearances include playing Leeward in Troupe 1096's The Little Mermaid, George Gibbs in Merely Players' youth production of Our Town, and the title character in Mountain Middle School's production of Macbeth. He also directed the short film "18 Frames" which won an award at the Durango Independent Film Festival.

Mady Brand, Co-Director

Mady Brand is a director-choreographer and stage actress from Durango, Colorado who has been a part of the theatre community for over a decade. She has worked with Merely Players, Four Corners Musical Theatre Company, Henry Strater Theatre, Durango Arts Center, Diamond Dust Players, and Ohana Arts. She has received training with Ohana Arts in Hawai'i and through Bridge to Broadway online.

 

She played Madame Thénardier and the Factory Girl in ThesNerd Productions' Les Misérables and directed No Time At All: A Musical Theatre Showcase as a collaboration between ThesNerd Productions and Animas Theatre (which was unable to be performed due to the COVID-19 shutdown). 

 

Her other recent stage appearances include: Demeter in Cats (Ohana Arts Festival), Disaster! (Four Corners Musical Theatre Company), 50th Melodrama Anniversary (Grand Imperial Hotel), Sense and Sensibility (Merely Players), and Mrs. Gibbs in Our Town (Merely Players). She also recently choreographed Oliver! and 'Twas the Week After Christmas at the Durango Arts Center. 

Her notable performances in Zoom readings, during the COVID-19 shutdown, include: Rose in Gypsy, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly!, Meg Giry in Love Never Dies, Diana in Next to Normal, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Winifred Sanderson in Hocus Pocus, Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel, and Anya in Anastasia.

Outside of directing, choreographing, and performing, she enjoys traveling, reading, studying history, playing the oboe, and being an audience member of the theater. She is very fond of tea, plants, and everything old fashioned. She is also an original member of Malala's book club, Fearless

Helene Brimhall as Fantine

Helene Brimhall, Co-Director

 

Helene Brimhall is a theatre and film actress from Folsom, California, who currently attends Durango High School. She has taken part in the world of theatre since she was little and has been involved with a number of shows through Troupe 1096 and the Durango Arts Center.

 

She played Fantine in ThesNerd Productions’ Les Misérables. Her notable stage appearances include playing Flotsam in The Little Mermaid with Troupe 1096, Grempkin in the same troupe’s production of Peter and the Starcatcher, Lady Macbeth in Mountain Middle School's production of Macbeth, and Grace Farrell in Annie at the Durango Arts Center. Additionally, she played the lead in Aiden Hurley's short film, “18 Frames”.

 

In her spare time, she likes reading, being outdoors, enjoying the company of her friends, and playing with her dog, Jake. She is very grateful for her friends and family who support her in all that she does.
